In the wake of the upcoming Broadway opening of FLASHDANCE, a Dutch touring production will open late 2013, based on the current US Tour. Alvert Verlinde Entertainment will present FLASHDANCE as part of a string of dance-heavy movie-based musicals. Earlier productions included FOOTLOOSE and FAME. The creative team for the Dutch FLASHDANCE is expected to be the same as for these previous shows. Casting has not yet been announced.

FLASHDANCE tells the story of a welder with a talent for dance, who dreams of being admitted to a renowned school for ballet. The stage show features the songs that were made into hits by the film from the 80's, such as 'What A Feeling', and 'Maniac'. New songs have been written for the current US Tour, which are likely to be used in the Dutch version as well.

Albert Verlinde Entertainment currently produces three musicals in the Netherlands: ANNIE, THE Buddy Holly STORY and SHREK.
